Tigerdad, your posting takes some doing as you really have stuck at it over the last 12 months or so. Most of us who have posted over the last season have totally given up on even using the facilities at WR. I am sure we all admire your efforts and I for one am glad you have seen the light. IF the board/club or whoever do read this posting perhaps now they will realise that the spirt is well and truely broken.Sorry for firing back at you over the season but it is sad that even you now question why you bothered!
Good luck, who knows they might promote you to the board.Stick by my saying,STAND UP AND BE COUNTED.

Re: The service at the bars at Welford Road?
The problem is plain to see.
After all the hype of the technology being in place - the much heralded 4 secs to pour a pint, the sheer size of the bar in the final whistle etc., that counts for nothing when it take two novice students to take 120 seconds looking at each other trying to work out which buttons to push on the till and to try to work out what change they should be giving. All done with no ability to multi-task and absolutely no sense of urgency whatsoever.
Event catering never works when you have inexperienced staff and when you are charging premium ++ prices for the pleasure, this is the frustrations you will get.
If they stick with Lindleys and inexperienced students, they have to simplify the processes eg. all beer (Guiness, Tiger, Lager, Cider, 250ml bottle wine) at a single price, say £3.00, Soft drinks at £1.50 and Bottled Water at £1.00. Pre-pour 10 mins before HT and FT as they do at twickenham.
Hot drinks dispensed on Carts only, but have 4-5 of them in the CAT stand and more around the ground, not just 1!

Poor service, poor beer, sky-high prices = drink at the pub before and after the gane and avoid Welford Road bars like the plague!

Youngtigerfan - Thanks for your post. Can I ask at what bar and at what time were you served?

Re: The service at the bars at Welford Road?
Dear All
I have a meeting next week with Simon Cohen and Jason of Lindley's to discuss the current catering standards and what we can do to improve them.
Before you say it, I know I've asked for this before but I'm interested in those of you that experience the same issues week in week out, particularly in the Final Whistle, Goldsmiths and the Clubhouse stands.
The current catering poll is a great snap shot but we need to discuss specifics if we are going to change anything;
My agenda is currently;
- Queueing times and queuing processes - We are currently aiming at 10 mins tops
- Staffing and supervisors (ability, training etc)
- Serving processes (Pre-pour, quicker pumps, till operator and server etc)
- Food quality
- Catering on a game by game basis - Staffing and catering up
- Additional vending stands (Tea, coffee , hot chocolate)
- Hawkers (mobile bars - bitter and larger)
- The Mark - Getting assurances that this will only be used as a public bar
- Drink stands/ holders in the Final whistle
- And finally prices
Happy to add anything else that people feel strongly about. Please keep it clean and to the point.
Thanks TD

What about selling local Leicestershire produce Pork pies, real ales etc even if only from a stand in car park next to the Hog roast!!

I assume those who wish to vote have voted.
80% believe the service is poor or worse.
The thread does now risk conflicting with the Catering Feedback Thread where progress now does appear to being made - or at least continued.
I suggest it is now locked.
all best regards
