Here comes the snow!

Post by BJ. »

I woke at 03.30 and there was only a light dusting on the lawn. However, it's now 07.50 and there's a good 10-15 cm out there with a stiff NE wind.

I can't see me going very far today.

We are still relatively toasty up here. 8 degrees centigrade.

But the car park looks like a troop of Canadian lumberjacks have been busy overnight. Branches and leaves everywhere.

Snowing here now, wet and slushy but settling on grass and rooftops, roads are clear.

Real Easter holiday weather ;)

It's still falling here but starting to ease up. It's not cold and the roads looks good.

Snowing in the countryside but plain sleet in Loughborough town centre. Think it's mainly given way to rain now.

The pitches needed a water anyway.

forecast is for reasonable weather tomorrow as well. Mind you, we do have a drought and a hosepipe ban from whenever (soon, not sure when).

Ban starts today!

No snow in S Lincolnshire, but travelling north of the border tomorrow, so hoping the thaw gets a hurry-up!

It's been deceptive here because of the inviting looking blue sky.

But some young lad took his brand new sailing boat out from Bridlington because it looked OK, and as soon as he got out of the bay the waves smashed it to bits and he had to be pulled out of the water in 8 foot waves.

Whoo hoo! Belper was featured on EMT last night regarding the snow. The first bit was shot approximately 350m from our house on the route to my local.

Click here for EMT (snow report starts at 3 mins 30 secs)

No snow in Essex. Heavy rain in Cambridge abd Huntingdon but even that avoided Essex (or my bit of it - left home in sunshine drove through torrents and returned to sunshine!) But it does on the righteous you know!

I know it's an old saying, but if the snow that fell on Belper had fallen on Westminster it would have been headline news.
