The difference between Speedy and Tait is that Speedy couldn't get a game and we can't get Tait to play. :smt022

That spill could be one of the reasons we let him go though :smt002

I think he has just showed both his brilliance and his weakness! Try brilliant. Drop awful (although conditions not great).

Leicester's Lucas Amorosino had a particularly good game, repeatedly scything through the defensive line from full-back in a one-sided first half.
So said the Guardian in its report on Argentina v Romania. (http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2011/se ... a-romania1) Let us hope that they are now up to Speed(y).

French Top 14 club, Montpellier have signed Argentine international wniger, Lucas González Amorosino on a two year deal from Aviva Premiership side the Leicester Tigers. Amorosino left Buenos Aires club, Pucará in 2009 to link up with the English giants and scored the teams only try in the historical win over South Africa in November 2009. Despite impressing early on, the clubs preference of fielding aged players meant that despite Amorosino performing well at international level for Argentina, he was not getting as much game time as he should have with Leicester. His move to Montpellier will be a vast change of scenary as he trades an English club for a French club, an experienced championship side for a younger side showing immense progress. Leicester has many experienced players aged in their 30´s or late 20´s while Montpellier is packed with players in the early to mid 20s.

Would this be the boring style of play that made Tigers end last season with more tries and the most try bonus points than any other team in the Premiership?
and failing 7/10 to win the Prem. Oh! and there is the HC effort of recent years to consider too!

The bottom line is that player come and go. He was exciting with ball in hand but also had his failings, the high ball being one of them. He didn't get enough first team starts because on balance the coaching staff preferred others and finishing top of the league and getting through to yet another final suggests to me that their choices were in the main on the mark.Who would you have dropped to make room for him on a regular basis?

For speedy he rightly felt for his own progression, particulary as an international player, he needed regular first team exposure, hence his decision to move on.

In choosing a replacement we have a seasoned international who is unlikely to miss much time due to international call ups so you can argue it was a good move in the circumstances. The deed is done, it's time to move on.

Scored a great try v South Africa and we won 22-17 - remember that ?

Scored a brilliant try v Saffas @ Vicarage Road about a year ago I seem to recall when we got beaten down there

Scored a brilliant try today v Scotland

OK, he dropped the ball in the pouring rain whilst trying not to put his foot on the touchline

I for one will miss him!

He wanted more first team rugby. Understandable. Was hard for us to give him that. He would struggle to overtake our first choice back three of Tuilagi/Hamilton/Murphy, and now we have Tait and Morris to add to our other back three players. Regrettable, as he really had that Robinson-esque magic at times, but we move on, and hopefully Tait can more than make up for it if we can get him right.

I loved watching him run with the ball. However, scoring tries is NOT our problem (although you would not believe it based on some of the posts)last year we scored the most tries, this season we are right up there as well. We are just too leaky. Amorasino was erratic in defense and therefore is not the solution to our main problem, and neither was Tom Varndell.

with respect - we don't score tries against the good teams .Amorosino is certainly no worse at defending than Hamilton ( he's becoming a complete liability) and his attacking play is in a different league . Defence can be taught - flair and pace cannot .
