Englands new kit

Post by sjm »

First of all great result for England but what an awful kit we had to wear to day just as bad as our away kit but the one good thing was manu scored his first try for England

I really like the kit to be honest! The home one is even better though.

I don't like the numbers being just an outline and not a solid block. It made it fairly hard to read.

If the numbers were hard to read then Nike have done their job. Much like when canterbury made the numbers smaller on SA and Scot shirts, it makes it harder for a ref to pick them out in a mass of bodies. I think the new shirt is excellent and the home shirt is just as good.

I couldn't believe it watching the tri nations on Saturday- the Kiwi's were playing in black as well- that's just plain disrespectful, don't they know our away kit is black!

I like the new away strip. Just that little bit different to that awful purple strip.

After having my initial doubts I love the look of the away kit, the Red Rose contrasts beautifully with it making it stand out proud, and I much prefer the numbers being outlined rather than solid. But then I also like the last Anthracite 'away' kit after thinking I wouldn't.

My new all black England shirt arrived in the post today looks good close up.
Happy to wear anything that messes with the Kiwis mindset, after all they’ve been disrespecting our national team for years with their alternative white shirts!!
An observation clearly missed by Mr Lomu,

Some valid points about the new away strip Crumbie Deeks. I love it and I just hope that Santa gets my wish list in time.

To be fair to Lomu the media blew it up to make out that it was going to be our main kit unless you read it thoroughly.

I've nothing against the kit as such, it looks okay and if it winds the kiwis up it can't be all bad. But completely changing the away kit as often as they are now does seem like shameless commercialism and is more than a tad cringeworthy in my opinion.

I haven't yet read anything about the Kiwis viewing the new Welsh away kit as disrespectful...

Good point - perhaps because its not been hyped by the media in the same way....

...and that may be because no one really cares about the welsh, like they do with England (and when I say cares, I mean dislike intensely :smt019 )
