It could also be one of the easiest but for that we will need some luck & we don't tend to get much!!

I believe from tier 2 we can draw only 3 of the sides ASM Clermont Auvergne, Ospreys, or Harlequins.

Quins I think are the extra (7th) team from England after winning the Amlin and that would allow 2 English sides in the same pool.

I think the best outcome would be Clermont from Tier 2 then from Tier 4 it would have to be Connacht Rugby, Benetton Treviso, or Aironi Rugby. Thus avoiding the French sides from Tier 4.

Gloucester are the lowest ranked english team, and are in Tier 3

this means that we can ONLY draw Clermont or Ospreys from Tier 2

if we draw Clermont:
We will also get treviso, Aironi, or Connacht

if we draw ospreys:
we will also ger Montpellier, Racing Metro or Castres
Never mind the ball, get on with the game!!

I'm awfully sorry. I forgot you had the self-appointed divine right to duplicate threads whereas the rest of us mere mortals have ours merged with the originals.

We had our easy draw this year and didn't take advantage of it so we can't really complain . Ospreys will be much weaker next following the mass departure of their stars . I'm not confident about our prospects in Europe next year whoever we get as I don't think Cockerill understands what a step up is required from the premiership grind . We might be able to score a load of points against Sale , Leeds et al playing as we do but not against the French or Irish teams .

As mentioned on one of the other threads, if we dont get ASM we MUST get one of the T4 French teams.

Indeed. So which do you fancy? Clermont and a 2:1 chance of an Italian club over Connacht or a weakened Ospreys and a choice of Racing-Métro, Castres or Montpellier who finished 2nd, 3rd and 6th in the Top 14 respectively. Personally I think I prefer the first option.

I just hope we turn up for all our home games and finish top of our group.
This is the top tournament in europe and all teams are hard to beat and in the last 2 years it has been our home results early in the competition that has let us down.
