London Wasps v Leicester
Leicester travel to High Wycombe this weekend after a less than impressive start to the season most would agree. Wasps always a hard nut to crack but no reason why Leicester should not get something from this game.

Tigers have played way less than the sum of our parts so far. If the second row gels, and the half backs get busy and interested in defence we'll give 'em a hard time.
If not, well, We may still beat 'em.

Seems the pests are giving away a lot of penalties,so we need to get in their faces,a bit like Exeter tried with us.
The pack will get to be more of a unit, just need to get things gelling and we can get some points out of this game.

I must admit there are a few Pests that I would love to attract to Welford Road. Two positions where we lack badly are 2 and 7. I really like the look of the Wasps reserve hooker Tom Lindsay. He is a beast of a man at 6ft 2in and nearly 18 stones and it might not be too hard to attract him as he is behind Webber who is a young man himself. In terms of a great 7 then I would absolutely love a player like Tom Rees to come across. He really is outstanding and I think he would thrive in the Tigers environment better than he would amongst the pretty boy pests! If we could get Dom Waldouck aswell that would be nice

Just watched the highlights of the Falcons Wasps game, the Wasps pack did not look like they were interested. I'm sure they will be up for the tigers game though.

I think that the Wasps front row may well be up quite often!!!drc_007 wrote:Just watched the highlights of the Falcons Wasps game, the Wasps pack did not look like they were interested. I'm sure they will be up for the tigers game though.
Still keeping the faith!
Re: London Wasps v Leicester
Who should the back 5 be for Wasps?
I'd say:
4. Skivington
5.Croft
6. Mafi
7. Woods
8. Waldrom
And take off Woods after 65, moving Croft to openside, and Green on in his place? Not sure really.

9. Ben Youngs

TTRITH seems to have the team about right. Croft must play 6 for me, utilise his speed to the break down, support etc, he can be used in the lineout with Mafi moving back.

I wouldn't mind seeing Slater starting at lock, with Croft at 6. Might be a bit harsh to drop Skivington or Green without giving them a proper run in the side though.
I'd also like to see us try out some of our other wing options – Robinson or Agulla. I think we need to be able to change things around if, for example, Murphy or A Tuilagi aren't having great games. We can always move Hamilton to FB if need be.

He hasn't ever let us down, and had a good game at Twickers last year. Plus with Allen and Hipkiss out, we need at least one center with premiership experiance which both Twelvetrees and Tuilagi don't have.tonyw wrote: Quite a good selection with one exeption Matt Smith

Re: London Wasps v Leicester
We have an ungelled second row partnership which is ruining our lineout and the solution to this is to chuck yet another new signing into this?
Murphy
Hamilton
Hipkiss
Tuilagi M
Tuilagi A
Staunton
Youngs
Ayerza
Chuter
Castro
Skivington
Croft
Newby
Woods
Waldrom
The new forwards must be given time to learn to play as a unit, Croft comes in to secure the lineout.
Presuming Allen is injured then Manu comes in to toughen up the midfield.
