Heather Mills and LOROS.

Post by palletman »

Just read in Leic Merc that Loros have had to cancel a speech at Tigers by Heather Mills owing to lack of support. Loros quoted as being concerned of a cancellation charge by the Tigers. As LOROS do so much for the people of Leicestershire may i ask the Club to consider NOT charging Loros any fee please? May i also ask ALL fans to support this request if they see fit, and avoid Loros facing a bill. If the club do go ahead and charge, and to a degree i understand, can it be made public what that fee is so perhaps some of us fans can help cover it? THANK YOU.

I would like more detail of this.

An organisation that supposes that Heather Mills will be a crowd puller and bases a money raising event on that hypothesis deserves, prima facie, to cop cancellation charges.

As I understand it, the article says that there had been no indication from the Club about any fees being still payable. I would be greatly surprised if any cancellation charge was made.

Fine.

The sponsors of Loros will I am sure be questioning the trustees as to the wisdom of booking that particular speaker.

Please reassure us that she too will not be making a cancellation charge.

Why is this post on the rugby page?

because it is referring to the Club allegedly (according to the Mercury) possibly making a cancellation charge to LOROS for this event which was booked in the Tigers corporate suite. Therefore it is related to the Club's facilities.

Rugby page or not, any penalising of a charitable HOSPICE caring for the terminally ill in Leicestershire and Rutland (over and above perhaps recouperation of admin costs at cost), would be yet another indicator of 'corporatitis'.

In my experience as someone who works alongside such charities, and whether you think it's emotion-based or not, the general public can take a dim view of such things. Would a penalty fee for cancellation balance the good will lost in the community?
ST in new Clubhouse stand ... sadly, my back's no longer up to standing :-(

as I said, it is only alleged by the paper that the Club have not yet officially confirmed they will NOT be making a charge. Let's also be aware that Ms Mills' representative has also not confirmed that either.

Not being funny, but the facilities will being used by all and sundry, with nothing to do with the sport played on the field.I would have thought we would have put this on the other forum as it's not directly rugby related, that's all.
The points raised are legitimate, just nothing to do with rugby.
