I vaguely remember reading somewhere that one of the very early kits 125 years ago was silver and maroon. may be wrong. but that would be nice, I reckon.

If we still have to have a light away kit, I would like a return to predominantly white, with a few small red and green hoops.
Re: New Away Shirt
Whilst seeking to purchase a home shirt the other week I was offered one of the ghastly blue away shirts and politely declined. A staff member at the shop told me that if Caterpillar get their way we'll be having a gold and black design on the new one. Could be interesting... just hope it's not too Waspish.

Following the Stade theme how's about a collage of diggers and dozers in gold on a black background?Gibbo12 wrote:Whilst seeking to purchase a home shirt the other week I was offered one of the ghastly blue away shirts and politely declined. Well, with or without a CAT/cat connection, there's some basis for a gold based design - it would take too much lateral license to take the club's historic colours and merge with the brand them to make the sponsors very happy. Have to be gold or white shorts though, as of course they need to be "light" too, now the "home" shirt has gained "dark" shorts

I have a player issue maroon training shirt from about 5 years ago that is still very smart ! Another vote for claret !
I quite like the blue shirt to be honest...

Just don't mix the two - we'd end up looking like Villa or West Ham fans.Purebob wrote:I have a player issue maroon training shirt from about 5 years ago that is still very smart ! Another vote for claret !

I have to admit, further to my previous post, I liked the idea of an old fashioned (pre-green, red and white) "Tigers" shirt, even before CATERPILLAR's yellow and black brand connection.

Re: New Away Shirt
I was thinking that a yellow/gold shirt would be the wish of CAT some time ago, and I'm sure it was mentioned on here somewhere. But agree with Gibbo12 that it could get too waspish, or, if black/gold too much like the Ospreys shirts, although I do like the colour combination (i'm off to wash my mouth out and cleanse my mind). Could also attract the inevitable 'yellow belly' taunts if there's too much yellow.Gibbo12 wrote: A staff member at the shop told me that if Caterpillar get their way we'll be having a gold and black design on the new one. The Grey that was mentioned doesn't really float my boat either, very bland sounding, Silver maybe? But didn't a well known football team try a grey strip and got spanked, eventually blaming the shirts for blending in to the crowd?!
Mind you Matt Smith could like that...."I didn't pass because I didn't see the winger outside me, it's these shirts boss"
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.
