Post by cornish tigress »

Is anyone else out there as excited as me about Wednesday night? Please bring the premiership down to the proper West Country, Chiefs.

Ah Rizzo, you haven't lived until you have heard the Exeter Chiefs drums and warcry echoing out round Sandy Park. Hopefully next season you will experience it! :smt026

Good luck to the Chiefs. I was there when they played at Twickers a few years ago. The only problem is that the chant 'Chiefs, Chiefs... sounded very much like 'Cheats, cheats... to me on first hearing it, so they may need to do something about that.
Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.

Used to live round the corner from County Ground when I was at Uni, don't recall a significant native american community at that time!

Actually I think Exeter's chance came & went last Wednesday.

No. They won! This season they beat Bristol resoundingly away at the Memorial Stadium, so they have won the psychological battle by holding Bristol at home and beating them. Bristol also won away this season at Sandy Park, so by winning at home they have the psychological and actual advantage. They will win and I will be able to pop up the road to see Tigers. It is written. :smt002

The difference being that there does seem to be historical reasons for the Tigers nickname whereas Chiefs appears to be the product of a marketeer!

Having been a Bristol season ticket holder (now a Tigers season ticket holder - now I can afford the time and money!) I look forward to Bristol V Tigers next season - I won't have to drive 130 miles to see Tigers play that weekend!

Cracking game last week at Sandy Park - some big hits made! Unfortunately I'm otherwise engaged on Wed, so I won't be able to get to the Memorial ground - have to wait and see the recording!

15 mins max for me to Sandy Park but I fear the 3 point cushion will not be enough.
