Home Wins
After six home wins at the weekend the top of the table should look like this:
Tigers 78
Saints 67
Saffers 65
Bath 60
Irish 56
Wasps 53
Sequins 45
Tigers 78
Saints 67
Saffers 65
Bath 60
Irish 56
Wasps 53
Sequins 45

Re: Home Wins
So, 1 v. 4 only 16 points difference.
Must close now before the play off supporters spot this.
And....16 points range for the statistically minded. How can a team that far behind be champions?
Really must close now - might be accused of being a dionosaur.

Actually on my numbers it is 18 points.jack wrote: And....16 points range for the statistically minded. How can a team that far behind be champions?
.
And only Tigers would be above the mean of the top four sides. (67.5 points)
Incidentally the sd is 6.576 (4 sig figs)

Re: Home Wins
Six Home wins Bill!?
Bath v Leeds Carnegie
Harlequins v Sale
Leicester v Saracens
London Irish v Northampton
Newcastle v Wasps
Worcester v Gloucester
I would say the first 3 are home wins but the last 3 will be away wins.

It is a bum rap. What's worse (for me) is that my other team is in the Championship Play Offs against Blackpool (who finished 9 points behind) and we will no doubt cock that up and remain in the League Of Death for another year.
I do think Tigers have an extremely good chance of glory though. Let's face it, it's not as though the coaches and players are strangers to the situation.
Kicks and scrums and ruck and roll.....Is all my brain and body need!

What the bookies think:
Leicester evens
Northanpton 5/2
Bath 5/1
Saracens 5/1
Wasps 50/1
London Irish 80/1

Re: Home Wins
Why get so hung up on the league positions?
All teams know the rules at the start of the season (unlike the year they were introduced). It is not possible to decide if 1st or 4th is a better finish - some sides may feel it is better use of their squad to aim for 4th and save players for the play offs. Risky perhaps as the top 2 get home semis.
