Best of luck Brett. You never let us down, great servant, great player, just unfortunate to be competing against so many other great players for a starting shirt.

Now we really need a number 8 in the summer. Jordan is our only specialist and Brett is the usual cover. I read we are after some New Zealander known as the Tank but he would be pricey!!!

Who is coming through the academy at 8. Any stellar prospects? Personally I think we need to spend our cash elsewhere (We definitely need a World class 12!) rather than in the pack.

Has somebody taken the eye off the ball here? Or does Brett know more than he's allowed to let on?

No8 cover seems sparse, so what's the plan Cockers? I'd like to think there was one!

All the best Brett, shame to see you go but you are too good not to be getting a regular starting berth.

For a lad who is Leicester born and bred it can't have been an easy decision to make, but being a proffesional he has a career to look after.I say good luck and thankyou for all you've given to the club.

Why is it assumed that somebody has taken their eye off the ball?
Brett is a good player who has probably had enough of playing second or third fiddle, and wants to get more action whilst he's still young enough. So he's decided to try his luck elsewhere. Cockers has been quoted as saying he didn't want him to go, but if that's what he wants, so be it.
Apparently there may well be some other guys who are yet to decide their future, and the plan will, I imagine, be to identify and track suitable potential replacements, such as Waldrom. Not necessarily, cunning enough for Blackadder, but hopefully effective!
