Interesting that the player who twice slapped the Ref has not been cited.

To be honest, the quality of the reffing has been very poor this year, and the refs have it coming to them. They need to improve, and if cockers is the only one who wants to stand up for this, it's a shame.

Good on you cockers!!! :smt041 :smt041

Walk with care. That is close to dribbling geriatrics.
Me walk with care? No that'll not happen.

Not sure about the bit about geriatrics though, are you worried you may be offered a knighthood then?

So, what are the laws about coaches speaking to refs? On the field, the captain can talk with the ref, so surely off the field it should be the job of the coach to point out things that he feels aren't being dealt with adequately.

I'm sure that Cockers would have put his point very vociferously, but that's exactly what a coach needs to do for his team.

What, I wonder, did the match official's report make of the standard of ref and TJs?

There is a rule that Coaches may not speak to the referee during the game. They are asked to fill out a query card at half time, and give it to the 4th Official who will raise the issues with the Ref.

After the match, the ref is prepared to speak with the coaches and answer any concerns.

However if it helps get him off I will happily plead guilty to so being!

Are they allowed to write on the query card: "Ref, why are you being such a plonker?"

Very impolite.

Should be "Ref, why are you being such a plonker, Sir."
