Time now for the young boys to become men. It seems obvious that some academy lads will have to be thrown in at the deep end.

Oh ********! :smt009

Right when he should be securing the England 13 shirt, and when our backline is in peril!

Sign JimJim and/or Lucas now then! Them for Smith, and Smith for Hipkiss.

Step up 36!

This is not good. We are STARTING the season with Mauger, Vesty, Tuilagi and now Hipkiss all out injured.

Please play Twelvetrees at centre and not Matt Smith on Saturday. With Smith at centre, don't bother playing anyone on the wing.

The cavalry may be on their way, this from today's Merc

"Cockerill said he expected inside centre Aaron Mauger to have recovered from a back injury in time for the trip to The Stoop but that crocked fly-half Sam Vesty was still "probably a month away" from returning."

If true, this is not a moment too soon! Obviously a shame about Sam though.

The word (from Tom Croft) was that he has a sore knee and the crutches were precautionary. He is expected to be available for the weekend.

The question is will Mauger manage to last the game? with this blessed back injury that does not seem to be healing the probable answer is likely to be NO.

Hope he holds up! But we have already heard this from Cockers before and he lasted 40mins at Cardiff. Maybe thats all we need!

They appear to be arriving singly though!

According to reports in Rugby Week/Sky, Hipkiss has tweaked his knee, he has had a scan and is going to see a specialist. Hope it's precautionary.

From reading the page about Saturdays game on the BBC it says Lewis Moody is also out, what's his latest injury anyone know?

Im confused on the Moody situation, as the Merc makes out like he is fit and ready to start tomorrow, but he isnt even on the bench and the team info says he is injured!
