Who's on the Plinth?

Post by Outlander »

Hello from Minnesota, Tigers fans!

Say, my daughter has been following via the internet the people on the Plinth in Trafalgar Square. Seems like a fascinating project. She was really taken by a guy doing a mini-Henry VIII biography.

I have been too busy to check in much, but I was curious as to how the project has been received in England. Is it a hot topic or is it being overlooked?

Have any Tigers fans made their appearance in Tigers kit on the plinth?

Just curious ...

not sure I'm average, but I've found it pretty interesting. I heard of someone who was on the plinth dressed in a duck costume and everfy so often squatted down and left a toy duck behind, as if laying it.

wish I'd gone in for the competiton - I would have worn my Tigers' kit!

They should put a man on it in tartan and holding a claymore.

  Groan.

I love Anthony Gormley, but must admit to not having paid much attention to the plinth, but I did see a clip of them all under umbrellas with the rain pouring down recently. We have not had the best summer. That's what EVERYONE is talking about! You know us Brits and our weather. Bet it's better in Minnesota.

One day my plinth will come, one day :smt003

They were obviously waiting for a rendition of Purple Rain by Plinth.

Local lady was on plinth with her favourite 12 pairs of shoes. (true!)
What does that say about contemporary society?

Thanks for the responses, all.

I love the puns. I always thought puns got a bad rap.

Maybe it's because I can never think of any!

Well, I'll keep a quarter of an eye on the plinth via internet and my daughter will be watching.

Wish I could be there to see it ... and a lot of other things in the UK that I still want to see!

I am ashamed to admit that I have yet to tour the British Museum!

Have a great Tigers season, folks!
