I'm glad you posted that. I thought it was just me that found that annoying!

I would also back up the rant about the tw*t drivers that overtake a long queue before trying to cut into it at the last minute.

They are obviously unaware of the mayhem they are causing. I've seen petrol tankers doing 60 mph down the M1 having to lock all brakes becuase some t*sser in a BMW has stopped in their lane and is trying to squeeze into a non-existant gap in the M69 queue.

Good call madoqua. There used to be a lady in my office who wouldn't thank me for holding doors open (I hold doors open for everyone) for her, but worse than that, she wouldn't even look at you or acknowledge you. I took to making a very visible show of not holding the door open for her whenever I was in that situation.

Manners cost very little.

This is totally a mental thing, but I hate following a car transporter as it's about to go under a motorway bridge.

I know full well that they check the height of these things, but it always looks as though the highest vehicle is definitely going to clip the underside of the bridge and come hurtling down on top of me.

Okay - I have come in on this thread a bit late, but here goes:

1. People who smoke on buses - IT'S ILLEGAL! Is your addiction that bad that you can't wait until you get off?

2. Mobile phones with speakers - not just on buses, but anywhere!

3. People who stop you in the street to sell you something when all you want to do is spend money somewhere else.

4. Spiders

5. Wasps (both varieties)

6. Unnecessary swearing

7. Wrongly used apostrophes

That will do as a start - as I don't drive, I have no motorway rants.

On the news, I heard that they were planning to remove all apostrophes from all road signs.

How ridiculous is that?!
