Adding Fixtures to Outlook Calendar

Last season I did this the long way and typed all the dates in as new appointments in my calendar. Thought I'd share a better way. ;o)

It is documented my Microsoft http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=161587 so you're not doing anything you're not supposed to.

Look for a file called outlook.txt or outlook.hol depending on your version of Outlook, it will be in Program Files\Microsoft Office. Mine was C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\1033 but you might need to do a search.

Open it with notepad or wordpad and paste the text below in red into the list, you'll see all the public holidays of [Algeria] in there, I put it before them.

Go into outlook, tools, options, calendar options, add holidays, tick 'Tigers Fixtures' (and any others holidays you want), then OK.

Note: The TBC fixtures will go in as the earliest of the dates provided, you'll need to update them in your calendar when the dates are confirmed.

I have used your tip for which I am very grateful, but I have modified it slightly for a different team and their fixtures.

All of the 2007 fixtures show no problem on Outlook, but for some reason the 2008 fixtures will not display. Are you having the same problem?

Thanks gman, I converted the RWC schedule using 'your' technique in case anyone wants to add the RWC2007 to their Outlook calendar using your instructions in this post. Thanks for the tip. Malcolm

Tried and failed in Outlook 2007 (Vista). Kept denying me permission to save changes to the file, although I had changed the permissions for the folder away from read only (both forlder 1033 and Office12.

So, a nice idea but it didnt work for me...
