New Fatboy Signing (specially for Gate)

Post by kornboy130 »

Had rugby times since friday and only just got round to reading it all, not quite sure how i missed it on the front page but it says we have completed the signing of Argentinian International Tight-Head Satiago Bonorino. He's an old boy at 32 but could just be an option to cover for Morenos impending retirement whilst Dan Cole develops. He played in the world cup against France and Georgia for the Pumas and is currently playing his rugby along side ex-tiger Luke Myring at Capitolina.

Santiago Gonzalez Bonorino also played (at 3) for Argentina at Welford Road last year in the mid-season friendly against Tigers.

:smt005 Will he live up to Gate's hopes and expectations though?

Will any of our Argentine Tigers' fans be able to enlighten us?...

Another player on the OS quota, unless he has dual nationality. I know Ayerza is due to get Spanish citizenship, but could we be restricted on signing any world class players from overseas?

I'd be surprised if any of them are still talking to us after the reception they have received on another thread! :smt013
I used to be indecisive now I just can't make up my mind

He will outscrummage them in the scrums!

He will outpower and outmanoevre them in the maul!

He will outpace and destroy them in the loose!

Yeah, he should be OK!

alot of argies do have dual citizenship i believe - and playing in italy could mean he's had time to pick up one there.

Frontrowunionmember - your knowledge of front rowers is undeniable good - so what you got on bonorino as a player?

He currently plays in Italy & I think he's been there for a while so odds are that he already has an EU passport.

If this signing is genuine, I wonder whether we will hear any more of the Pierre Correia talk; which was strongly regarded as a 'done deal'. Any news Dailywaffle?

Top man, KB - brightened up my day no end. Bonorino looks good and solid, and we need more depth at TH, what with losing Castro to internationals and JW likely (I reckon) to be easing up.

So tigers would much prefer to recruit old and past it fat boys who they don't really need instead of a fly half which they desperately need? :smt017

why are we not looking after the future and starting to sign 'young blood' ... Here's another player topping up his pension at Welford Road...
