Return to winning ways and things on the UP!!
Well, we managed to beat Leeds, Harry and Andy has great comebacks. dont expect Harry to start next week though if the injury to Smurf is bad then i reckon it'll be a back three of alex, tom and Johne.
What is everyone opinion on young Humphries? Good enough to keep Goode out of the team next week? IMO, Yes.
Next week against Wuss, another 5 pointer expected, we cannot do a Sale. Only expect to not have Castro and Kay taken by their international sides, which means we could ni-on have the same line-up.
While i'm at it, any News on Smurf and Ben?
And when is Moody expected back?

Richard Burnett
The win's the thing, but by god we played poorly. How many rank turnovers did we concede?
Humph was great, definitely deserves the ten jersey next week. Lovely to see Hazza back, also great to see Danny getting back to his best.
Leeds looked a poor side though. Once the fat boys slipped off at half time for a pie and a pint they seemed to lose momentum. And John Holtby! Any chance Wuss can sign him before next week?

Deano always used to say how highly he reated Holtby!
Murphy never really recovered from being picked up and dumped by Tuilagi jnr. and Herring was flattened by a high tackle that was missed by both ref and touch-judge (but not by Crumbie Terrace!).
I worry about next week because let's be fair we weren't that good today and Worcester won at Sale!

Reading the match report stats Castro missed the two early penalties!
Worrying aspect for me was the inconsistency at the line outs. Amusing banter between Ollie Smith and the ref and Louis Deacon and the ref.
Ref seemed to decide to play advantage even at knock ons in front of the Leeds line by their players. Is this a change in their brief? As with high tackling, one on Croft and Herring seemed to be targetted as well.
Good to see Hazza and Tuilagi back on the field of play. (Ref did say to Harry Ellis, "welcome back". nice touch though he did nearly lose control of the game at one point.)

I am looking forward to the citing commissioners report on high/straight arm tackles.
All three IMHO deserved immediate red cards. Clearly Rowden abdicated in favour of the citing commissioner.

Strange old game, poor start, Crane catches, takes into contact, gets turned over = Leeds try...as easy as that. First half was poorest we've played for a while, forwards all over the place, off the pace, not hitting rucks and destroyed at the breakdown - very worrying.
Second half, better and I wonder how we actually got 5 tries to be honest, looking back.
On the plus side, Hipkiss started terribly, didn't pass when he should have on a couple of occasions but got better as the game went on, and looked almost back to his form of last season. Crane was again our best forward by a country mile, always over the gain line and growing in stature week by week.

Hipkiss is consumed by greed! Draw the man and pass is not in his repetoire as yet!
