Clowns. Where do you stand?
Latest thinking is that they actually frighten the children.
Since the age of 5 when I first saw clowns on TV, I thought they were:
Not funny at all;
Daft;
Pointless;
Boring as Hell;
Slightly creepy.

they are so not funny! We have two "children entertainers" as they like to be called who dress as clowns in lab coats calling themselves dr clown and nurse clown. They visit the lickle kiddies and the ward staff hate them, i bet they end up making the poor kids scared rather then feeling better and the staff are left with wards full of screaming kids.
The only good clown i heard of was doink the clown in wrestling!

Better to live one year as a tiger, than a hundred as a sheep.

"Here we are children, come and get your lollipops... ice-cream, chocolate... all freeeeeee today! "

Sadly, kids today have little idea of the Children Catcher but he used to scare the bejebus outta me! I'm 35 and was recently talking to a 21yr old who, when i made a reference to the long nosed one, replied "who?" i promptly went home and locked myself in a dark room whilst i contemplated my apparent old age.
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep - not screaming, like the passengers in his car.
From a very early age indeed, I can remember being told that The Bogey Man would get me if I didn't go to bed.
Of course, we have much more advanced ideas now that wouldn't allow such dire threats.
Which is why we've produced a generation of hoody wearing morons.
