What was your old motif Bill; "You are entitled to your wrong opinions"? :smt023

Seriously though, it is a close call and for once, a good selection problem.

In Brian we trust!

Actually, all the way through the last world cup, I would constantly tell people, "In Woodward we trust". It may only be temporary, but it is nice to have a national coach we can (sort of) trust in.

Will he [Danny Boy] start next week?
Will Ashton drop Tait?
How about Tait to Full Back, Hipkiss at 13, Lewsey on the bench?

I'm inclined to agree, i would have loved to see Hipkiss starting but you can't change a winning line up without very good reason. Tait improved in this game and i expect he'll start on saturday, i just hope Danny comes on a lot earlier this time.

I still think Tait can offer a lot at 13. He showed glimpse of he can do.
Looking to the future, Hipkiss at 12 and Tait at 13 can work. If we think of who's going to come through in the future, we have Flood Geraghty and hopefully Ollie Smith will come back to form. Out of them, only Smith can do some physical damage so Hipkiss in the mix will balance the mid field nicely.
I think Tait is making progress, far steadier then he was.

I don't rate Tate as an International Centre, so am generally unkind, but the Schoolboy error of catching a ball that was going out of play in the in-goal area and touching it down for a 20m d/o, when had he let the ball run we would have had a scrum/feed at least around the half-way line, took the b biscuit.

Tait and Danny are work in progress. I think Tait has come on a lot during the WC. Danny has not been given the chance but the whole experience and spells of the bench will all improve him as a player.

For the Final I think Josh may not be fit if he has pulled a muscle. If that is the case move Tait to wing and Danny at 13 with Catty at 12.

If everbody fit I would do the same and put Tait on the bench as he can cover wing or 12. If need be Josh can go to FB and Tait on Wing. Tait is not a FB for the final.

Don't forget if Josh had not been injured Danny may not have played or only got a 5-10 min slot at the end.

Johnno's description and praise of Tait post-match summed it up really. Dan Hipkiss did well when he came on, but Tait stood up to everything the French through at him. As Johnno said, he doesn't knock people back, he takes the legs and they go down !!

As much as I like Hipkiss, I think Tait is a better player... at the moment. Tait should start the final, but I'd like to see him at 12 when Catty retires- I think his pace and handling could work well with Hipkiss' power and stepping. But for now, I'd stick with Tait- but after the World Cup...... The possibilities are endless.

I thought Danny Hipkiss did very well yesterday, but personally I wouldn't change the team unless I was forced to because of injury.
Donncha O'Callaghan and Bruce Reihana are the best players that ever lived. Don't even bother to argue with me.

And - however good Imanol Harinordoquy is, he is still an idiot
