""It has been a tough World Cup for us. I have no complaints really.""
Cheeky b*gger! I'm so happy he has no complaints, but maybe he should have considering he failed to even advance into the quarter finals? I wonder if the IRFU and Irish rugby fans share his sentiment?

That's all I have to say on the matter.

He did his best orla! It is just that his best was not good enough!!!
I guess the bottom line is complacency - he thought all the team had to do was turn up and they would win.
The Welsh had a similar problem (sorry Pam - with less talent.) Ashton, on the other hand did, at last manage to gell a team with some committment (albeit little talent) under Captain Cozza having fortunately been denied the talents of Vickery and dismissed Dayglo from the park.

The result yesterday confirmed my prediction last week - EOS deserves the Worst Coach of the Tournament award.
As Bill says Ashton has some kind of excuse having chosen to accept the poisoned chalice of clearing up the awful mess that AR made.
EOS however has had years to build a squad around a few truly world class players that would compete & instead managed to get them knocked out in the group stages.
If i was Irish i'd have been livid at the comments made by BoD & EOS afterwards too.

Ireland have been the most underperforming side in the whole world cup.
With the talent that they have they should have had bigger wins against Namibia and Georgia.
As for qualifying for the quarters, it was always going to be a tough call. Argentina are ranked 4th in the world and have proved their worth so far.
This group was the group of death and Ireland failed to make it.
The players have got to take alot of the blame as they are the ones who have not performed.
