members search browser

Post by APJones »

Hi, is it possible that the web master could add a function to allow a member to select or go to an individual page. The sorting method is fine , allowing to select the 1,2,3 ....91,92,94 :next: is fine, but very tiresome and finger wearing if the members profile or hometown is in the middle of the alphabet.
By being able to select say, page 42 and finding the search reveals members names starting with 'K' for example would make searching so much more easier.
and the spare time can be utilised for watching Rugby or writing forum messages / mowing the lawn / making a hat for the finals etc..
Rgds

It's not obvious but one way around this could be to do as follows:

Click om PM at the bottom of a message

Then click on Find a username

Maximise this window

Type in the start of the username you are looking for, followed by an sterisk *

Click Search

You will then get a dropdown list of all usernames beginning with the letters you provided.

Hope that helps!

ok tried that
partial success - revereted to normal search method later.

Is it possible to change your user name or are you stuck with what you gave, maybe in a drunken stupor or something and can't remember it etc etc

No sorry, I don't think you can change your username.

The mods can change your password or email address for you if you ask them nicely but you don't have the abaility to do it yourself anymore I don't think.

Dave Angel is quite correct, if you want to change username (or have forgotten the previous one) then you have to register again. Moderators can alter email addresses and passwords if necessary.
