I can safely say (now my fingers are thawing out) that it DID snow, hail, sleet and all combined with a heck of a wind. There was a tongue-in-cheek announcement before the game that they had cancelled it because of snow showers

The hailstones were about the size of peas, and mixed in with the type of snow that looks like polystyrene beads (which is technically called 'graupel') and all hit just as they blew for halftime and the players all staggered off down the tunnel.

Rory Underwood came out with a beanie on in the 2nd half and made shivering gestures at the terrace, then went around picking up plastic beer glasses from the pitch! Austin made some comment after his run and his try about where the cold wind was blowing to....

I will try and upload some of my few photos to the TigersFans album later.

The weather was horrid.

Huge hailstones that felt more like golf balls than peas Rizzo.

When I parked the car the thrmometer said 12 degrees and 1 degree when I got back in!!!

A drop that much isnt good for anyone.

Heater on full for 35 miles and a bath and a medicinal malt and now just about back to temperature
Come on Tigers!!!

We were in Row V of the A&L, usually well behind the rain line, but it certainly wasn't behind the hail line! God was it cold!

Us hardened Crumbie Terracers just stood and took it!!

Or maybe we were just so concussed by hail stones that we didn't know what to do!

Not me and my gang, we stood our ground and kept our places on the barrier, having got there early enough to get a front row spot. I debated whether to take my glasses off so I wouldn't have them all wet and smeary but decided they made a good wind & hail shield even if I couldn't see.

I haven't forgotten you, gkbradley and Stamford Tiger, but the main forecasting chap on the weather forum says it's still too soon to predict either of your destinations. However, Turnberry is looking good for this coming week/weekend, moderate visiblity, temps around 5c min 12c max, 10mph winds.

Tyrol is a little harder to predict snowfall, although apparently the slopes are extremely good at the moment. Up to this weekend new snow on the upper slopes expected around 3cm.

I'll see what I can tell you middle of next week.

More importantly whats the weather going to be like for the Stade game?
Are the Tigers going to be playing fast free flowing rugby in the sun or are they going to get bogged down in the mud and rain?

While we're on the subject of weather. Rizzo can you tell me what the weather is going to be like in Filey? We're off on Friday on our my son's rugby club tour and we need to know if we need to pack the thermals or the bikini's?
