Password Problem

Post by murphy15 »

I tried to log in earlier but my PW was not working. I tried it a number of times and can swear blind that it was right. I clicked forgot password and got an automatically generated one sent to my Hotmail (which I've logged in with). Now when I go to profile to change the PW and put my requested new one in twice, it brings back the message 'The current password you supplied does not match that stored in the database'

Why? HELP!!

I assume you're able to log in somehow as you're able to post?

My suggestion would be:
Log out.
clear the cache, cookies etc.
Log in again with new password sent to your hotmail account.
If that fails, then send for another password reset and try that.

if it still doesn't work, post here again or PM the Webmaster.

Yeah, I'm logging in with the automated password sent to my Email, but I can't change it to something I can actually remember once I'm logged in because I keep getting that message...

murphy15,

I have just changed your password to your first name.

Try it now & see if it works OK.

You've changed my password, but I'm still not being allowed to change it...

It would seem that way. I remember someone saying they couldn't change their password ages ago so that leaves you with three choices:

1. Grow to love the password you have.

2. email one of the moderators and ask them nicely to change it for you to something of your choosing.

3. Re-register under a different username.

Sorry I can't be more helpful but I'm not even supposed to be here now. Rizzo & Iain should be able to offer you assistance if you choose option 2. Options 1 & 3 you can do yourself.
