I looked on the Saints website and it says

Turn right out of the station. For approximately half a mile follow the road past Thomas A Beckett Public House, Church's Shoe Factory, the Bus Station into a shopping area. Fork left, then turn immediately left into Abbey Street leading to the Saints Car Park

it is walkable - about 20 mins in the right direction, longer in the wrong direction. as you'd be at the bus station, you could also jump on a bus to st james which takes about 5 minutes, and are pretty regular.

once in st james (jimmies end - hence why we call ourselves 'jimmies' ) its not hard to find the stadium - just follow the flow of black gold and green.
