.........................so did I! Didn't seem to matter that I couldn't understand the best part of it. It was just like listening to Stuart Barnes...............................but he speaks English!!

It is the Anglo-Welsh cup and it only seems fair that the matches involve a team fromm each nation.
Cardiff v Wasps was shown on Grandstand.
Tigers v Dragons was shown on S4C which is a regular rugby slot for the Welsh.
I would just be thankful that people could see the rugby, even if the commentary was in Welsh.
Switch the volume down on the TV and listen to Radio Leicester. See if Bleddyn is watching the same game!!! It woudl be interesting.

I don't think it's Welsh bias, more that the regional Welsh Beeb has its act together (and naturally is going to show games with Welsh interest) and the "main" (i.e. English) Beeb can't be bothered. I can't see a Rugby Special listed today, for example - you'd have thought they'd run one because they'd have all the footage.

Its because BBC2 Wales have bought the rights to it, its the same as Doctor Who, The BBC didnt want to bring Doctor Who back but BBC2 Wales did and thats why its now made in Wales !BelperJon wrote:According to the Radio Times website, of the nine matches televised or to be televised this weekend and the next, only one of them is an-all 'English' game, i.e. Wasps v Irish on Sun 08 Oct. All the other eight feature one of the Welsh clubs. The Glaws v Brizzle game on Sat 07 Oct could be a cracker going by their current league form but instead we have the Bath v Ospreys match to look forward to (unless, of course, you're off to Wuzza :) ).
GAMES TELEVISED OR COMING UP:
Fri 29 Sep
Ospreys v Gloucester
Sat 30 Sep
Cardiff v Wasps
Tigers v Dragons
Sun 01 Oct
Scarlets v Harlequins
Fri 06 Oct
Newcastle v Scarlets
Sat 07 Oct
Bath v Ospreys
Dragons v Northampton
Sun 08 Oct
Wasps v London Irish
Saracens v Cardiff
Is it just me or is too much bias being placed to accommodate our Celtic friends from the other side of Offa's Dyke? I appreciate it is an Anglo-Welsh tournament but, since the GP clubs outnumber the Magners League clubs by three to one, shouldn't the televised games reflect this?
So its nowt to do with being bias, Guiness prem is on Sky, Welsh teams are on BBC Wales and S4C.
end of.

I'm told that if you tuned to BBC Wales via satellite instead of S4C - you got commentary in English anyway. (Not that I can vouch for that personally since I was actually at the game).
Please let's not have any of the English-v-Welsh abuse starting again, I will nip it in the bud, believe me.
