Hotels/Travel in Leicester

Post by SilensFatuus »

Can anyone recommend some cheap, decent accomodation near to WR?
I'm coming up for the Glaws came (c'mon Cherry and whites :P) and need somewhere to stay.
I'm a poor student so have no standards really.
This game is my graduation present to myself.
Also, how far away if the coach station, it's cheaper than the train.
Finally if anyone wants to adopt an 18 year for the match and possibly some drinks before/after that would be great! i'm friendly, well-behaved and up for a bit of banter!

Lot of questions I'm sorry! Thanks in advance.

The coach station is a bit of a walk but it is manageable. Hotels not sure about as I have never needed any in Leicester, but there is a Holiday Inn Express next to the Walkers Stadium which I believe is reasonably priced.

I think a snuck a look at the Holiday Inn during my lunch break at work.

Thanks Iain

Jen, I have stayed at the Days Inn Express in the centre, and the Holiday Inn express Iain is talking about. I can recommend the former as well as also the Holiday Inn next to the Walkers stadium.

If you come on the train, the Ibis is just next door to teh station and reasonably priced. It's also a pretty straightforward and fairly short walk from there to the ground.

Try Yell.com and put in hotel or whatever you're looking for and Leicester. You'll get hundreds to choose from and a map as well.. :D I find it invaluable when booking accomodation for salesman at my company.

Yay, the Days Inn is about £20 cheaper than all the other I've found.
Find my coach details as well just need to get paid and some people to go with!

Well, no offer of adoption from me (don't think my fiance would like it too much!), but I'll be walking to the game and coming (sort of) past St Margarets Bus Station, and on to the game via a pub. If that's where your coach gets in, you'd be welcome to join me.

SilensFatuus,

Check out www.laterooms.com closer to the date, this weekend the Campanile Hotel
is £40 a night (that's the total cost for the room), don't know what it's like as I've
never had the need to stay at a hotel in Leicester. Either way about a 20 min walk to
the ground.

You'll find that our beloved stadium is easy to find on match day, you just literally
follow the thousands of green/white n red shirts, we're a friendly bunch here we'll look
after you.

Coach Station is actualy on Welford Road itself

When did the coach station move to Welford Road? I'm no expert on Leicester but I thought it was at St Margarets Bus station.
