Hot Weather Havoc

Post by Sim »

While everyone is sunning themselves and enjoying the fantastic hot sunny dry weather the next few days, please spare a thought for our countrys Fire Services. Fires are breaking out left right and cetre in and around Bridgnorth and i'm sure its the same where many of you are.

One incindet caused a fire to take out approx 22 acres of a farmers corn and spread onto the road wrecking it. The Cause; a disgarded bottle.

Those in the countryside should take into account when disgrding of rubbish, not that people should be throwing it out but if you do then think and smokers, DO NOT throw away your cigerettes as you may wreck a farmers crop, put fire fighters in danger and in genral cause trouble. Most incidents are accidents but take a look at the link below, te flames a re a good 2 or 3 feet higher than this fireman.

Very good advice there Sim. Well said! :D :D :D :D

People should be very careful and avoid unnecessary risks. You hear about the fires in Australia and the States. Shows how easily they can start in hot weather. There they are generally through no fault of anyone. But try to avoid that happening here. Some horrific pictures in Shropshire.

yeh, crazy and the fire fighters in Bridgnorth are retained so by the time you have made the call the response time is +4 minutes and it can spread a whole load more, in fact most of the stations around here are Retained which makes it more dangerous.

Fire fighters are often injured fighting these types of fires, they're probably some of the most dangerous fires as its a lot harder to contain, in a hous at least you've got wall, in feilds you've just got miles and miles of dry, flamable material,

BE CAREFUL OUT THERE
