That could only have been the one and only Johnners.
John Motson came out with the all time classic commentating on England v Germany in Euro 96, bearing in mind at the time Germany had a player called Stefan Kuntz.
"Germany are in possession now........Kuntz....."
You can only imagine how it sounded.
Apologies for that.... rather funny and i can hardly censor somebody's name!

Slightly off thread but Forest used to have a superb defender called Einer Aas. His surname rhymed with farce.
The players of that era swear blind that Cloughie deliberately gave a first team chance to a young lad called Smelt, just so that the back four in the programme read:-
Anderson Smelt Burns Aas

Johners was one of my favourite commentators too. Bill Mclaren also. Others include Ian Botham, David LLoyd, Richie Benaud and Peter Alliss. Too many to mention but Murray Walker probably the one that stands out. Particularly some of sayings!!
Here are some Murrayisms:
With half the race gone, there's half the race to go!
Prost can see Mansell in his earphones
Two laps to go and then the action will begin. Unless this is the action, which it is!
Its raining and the track is wet!
This is an interesting circuit because it has inclines, and not just up but down as well.
Either the car is stationary or its on the move
There is nothing wrong with the car in front except that it is on fire
I imagine the conditions in those cars today are totally unimaginable
I make no apologies for their absence. I am sorry they're not here.
It's not quite a curve, it's a straight actually!
And Michael Scumacher is actually in a very good position. He is in last place.
Just a few from our much loved Murray. :D :D :D Great commentator all the same.

maggie thatcher! ...can you hear me? maggie thatcher!!! ...your boys took a hell of a beating! YOUR BOYS...... TOOK A HELL OF A BEATING!"
