Excellent try. You posting that reminded me of something I found a while ago...

This is a try widely regarded as being one of the best ever by Prince Alexander Obolensky (former Tigers player) playing for England against the All Blacks in 1936. Footage isn't that great but look how he gasses the All Blacks defence so comprehensively!

That Edwards try really was something special wasn't it? They don't make em like that anymore.

One of the best trie ever but did the pass not go forward to Edwards?

The only reason I really say one of is because it was not a full iNternational being Barbarians.

There have been many great tries but for idividual brilliance of Bennett, hands of and contact skills of Williams Quinell etc and tehngas of Edwards.

The French try when Blanco went from under his own posts against England was also very special.

France's try in the semi final of the 1999 World Cup against New Zealand would take some beating.

yeah my try against Loughborough 4ths was pretty good to, ha ha you've never seen someone move so quick over 5 meters in your life! (or as i like to tell everyone after a few pints - 60 meter run including 8 hand offs and seven sides steps complete with grubber kick that i did 8 gordon murphys with before balancing the ball on my nose and diving over the line)

Totally agree about the Edwards try but would the tackling have been a bit more aggressive in a full on test?

Following on from the Clive Woodward thread, he appears twice (about 2 minutes in) on this great montage. You'll remember the more recent ones, but take a look at some of the earlier stuff. Clive's 81 try certainly holds up well !

Great try there from Clive!

Notice that apart from a few from Rory Underwood, there was also a pretty good try for Tony too!

not sayin it was one of the greatest but it still amazes me how he got thru. tom varndel against wasps at the end of the season. i think it was his second one there was about 4 men around him and some how he got thru. he was tip toeing along the touch line.
Come on you tigers!

Does anyone have a link for that French on at Twickenham where they just cruise from under their own posts like a hot knife through butter?
