I gotta donkey

Well we have three horses and our friends have one as well.
We decided to buy a donkey as they mix well with horses and also make good travelling companions.
So, for instance, if we take just one horse in the box to a competition the horse might fret a bit at having to travel alone. However, once it gets to know the donkey, which is happening quite quickly, he will happily travel with it and not fret.

I have a friend who had their young stallion castrated under a general!! They recommend stallions to be done as young as possible but this one was aging a bit before they whipped them off. Basically, the poor lad had a bad experience and you can't even get near him to shoe his back legs now. Horses don't forget! They are very good at Chine House though..... he'll be treated well there!!Kinoulton wrote:Bad news re my donkey. Apparently vets don't like castrating them under a local anaesthetic.
They recommend he goes to Chine House for an overnight stay and a general anaesthetic. Ye Gads! I should have got him BUPA cover. The jug eared honker only cost me 350 guineas and he's going to quadruple that in vet's fees.
Is anyone out there reasonably adept with a couple of house bricks?
Moral of Kinny's story:- Never buy a horse (or donkey) without getting it insured ASAP. They cost you a fortune if you don't.....

It's an idea that's definitely got possibilities.
What music would you suggest we set it to?
Donkey dressage would make a change from seeing andulusians in the Spanish Riding School. :o
