More info from the Saracens' site:
Saracens are delighted to announce that our application to open a new Secondary School within the Colindale area of Barnet has today been approved by the Department for Education.
The Saracens High School Free School Trust will now continue to work with our partners to deliver a vision for the school that will focus on academic excellence whilst also identifying and nurturing the interests and talents of every child.
The Saracens High School Free School Trust was established in response to the urgent need for more school places across the London Borough of Barnet. Saracens has successfully brought together a group of like-minded individuals and organisations with a passion for education and a focus on the Colindale community. These partners include the Saracens Sport Foundation, Middlesex University, the Orion and Goldbeaters Primary School Gold Star Federation and the formal academic partner, Ashmole Academy.
Saracens Chairman, Nigel Wray stated: “What a marvellous opportunity we have been given! At the Saracens High School we will utilise our sporting beliefs to create a unique school environment where every individual student matters, academic achievement is important and a real emphasis is placed on teamwork and the creation of great memories. The hard work starts from this point.”
Saracens Community Director, Gordon Banks stated: “The news that the Saracens High School will become a reality is extremely exciting for Saracens and our partners but more importantly for the people of the Colindale community. The Saracens High School will become an important part of the ongoing regeneration of this area, helping to raise aspirations and providing its young people with a great start in life.”
Ashmole Academy Head Teacher, Derrick Brown added; “Ashmole Academy Trust is very pleased to be the educational partner with Saracens to create a new secondary school in Colindale. We are thrilled to have this opportunity to create a secondary school that has all the characteristics of an outstanding school as expected from our Trust but with the uniqueness of the Saracens values and expectations. The young people of Colindale are the winners in this decision by the Government to invest their confidence in Saracens and Ashmole Academy to provide aspirational educational opportunities for those students aged 11-19."
The Saracens High School Free School Trust will now work with the Department for Education and the Education Funding Agency to progress the pre-opening plans.

Saracens values eh? So lots of arguing with the teachers (and slagging them off after school on Twitter) and biting fellow pupils in the playground

Re: Saracens' school
Excellent idea in London, but not for Leicester which already possesses some excellent schools and close co-operation with Tigers is already in existence.
