The Morality of a Premiership Football Club . . .

Post by fleabane »

I know that football gets a kicking on this forum, but his article is a bit different. It calls into question the mores of what used to be one of the Premiership's most respected clubs.

I have always thought James Lawton of The Indy was an exceptional writer, an inheritor of the mantle of Ian Wooldridge, and he is at his critical best here. If you support Chelsea, look away now.

Terry is a very good player, but a personal disgrace.

And as I've said on previous threads, the crying shame is that his antics overshadow the absolute professionalism of the likes of Banks, Shilton, Beckham, Pearce, Shearer, Beardsley and many many more.

Where are the managers? The likes of Matt Gillies, Brian Clough, Alex Ferguson taught life skills as well as football. It seems like several modern day managers are prepared to tolerate and defend any behaviour.
Kicks and scrums and ruck and roll.....Is all my brain and body need!
