BBC Sport Personality

Post by Nailsworthstiger » Mon Nov 12, 2012 5:42 pm

It's getting to that time of year again and and being an keen watcher of the programme I was thinking who the heck is going to win this year after the fantastic year British sportsmen and women have given us. I think this year will possibly be the closest call in history and I don't think anyone who wasn't participating at the Olympics will get a look in. So after a long think I put my top 3 (in order)as Mo Farrah, Jess Ennis and Bradley Wiggins. If Andy Murray had won Wimbledon I think he may of got close... but alas it didn't happen.

Any other thoughts out there?

In any other year Murray or Rory McIlroy would have had a great chance (great year and major wins for each), but if there's any justice it's got to be Wiggo. Olympic gold medal and first Brit to win the most prestigious event in your sport tops anything anyone else has achieved.

I believe a campaign has started to back Alex Zanardi for the Oversees Personality of the Year.
And after towing and pushing 17-year-old quadriplegic Eric Fontanari along the majority of the Venice marathon course, I for one, hopes he wins it.

For the Overseas award I would go for Jim Furyk for missing that putt that gave Sergio Garcia his win and thus Europe retaining the Ryder Cup :smt001

I love Jessica Ennis, but I think Mo Farah's gold medal left the nation gasping and he may edge it.

I'd go for Mo Farah - his enthusiasm and loyalty to his adopted country is a winner for me.

I'd love to see Ellie Simmonds or Jonnie Peacock up there though.
