Norway doesn't have life imprisonment as a sentencing option. Instead, they give tariffs of around 20 years, which can be topped up at parole hearings. Because of this, it is logical that they are as inquisitorial as possible at all stages of the trial process and imprisonment so they can follow suitable sentencing/top-up guidelines.Phil B wrote: He admits he murdered 77 people. Now, I can't see Breivik ever being released but you cannot deny him the typical process as it would undercut their entire system.
