Even though I am not a football fan, I knew Gary Speed's name and face from things like Question of Sport, he was far too young and had so much to give and live for. Sadly the question "why" will resound, through blogs and internet speculation, I just hope the media give his poor wife and family some privacy.

I'm only guessing, but when depression and anxiety build up then nothing can negate it quickly.

You can have a great career, lots of money, a beautiful family, lovely house... but for a person to pull themselves out of depression takes a long long time despite all of those factors. And sometimes people just give up the fight.

None of us know, and so none of us can judge.

Reading between the linesin the newspapers, it seem his problems became drink related.
