Board Redesign - thoughts?

Post by Old Hob »

The message board is in much larger type but I'm not sure it isn't just a bit shouty. As for the rest, I've yet to explore it. I just hope it is faster.

Agreed, it needs far more scrolling to get around a page. Also, when using the reply function (as I'm doing now), the font changes to something resembling Teletype.

There's too much background down the sides and not enough room for the information in the centre of the screen.
Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.

The website will be undergoing further changes and upgrades over the next week or so, please be patient.

I will, of course, bring this to the IT people's attention.

As others have said it's really difficult to find - let's have a link from the home page as before.

(Hope I find my way back :smt003 )

A couple of responses from IT.

The reason for calling the boards, message boards is that we didn't want any confusion with the supporters forum page and information which is now easier to find and get to.

The messageboards should be easier to get to as a link should appear on every page on the floating bar at the bottom of the screen

thanks for the info about the direct link at the bottom of the home page. I hadn't spotted that and it makes it really easy to access the boards.

personally I quite like the large type, but that says more about my vision than about the redesign of the site!

A further thought. Wasn't there a direct link from the original home page to Matt Hampson? I can't find it now - though that may be me.

Also why does the floating tool bar disappear once on the forum?

Two thoughs:

If it ain't broke why fix it - the new design is pleasant enough but wastes screen space - big grey areas at left and right.

Needs lot more testing as it renders noticeably differently on different browsers!

Not sure I like the half green/half white background on everyones posts, make it quite hard to read, espically when the change is in the middle of the font.

Its big and bold and i love it, feels like the Tigers brand is moving forward, with so much to offer outside of rugby which will benefit the rugby at Welford Road. Very Professional look to the new website. Well done TIGERS!

You're kidding! It looks anything but professional at the moment. Looks far more cluttered than the previous style and wastes too much space.
