Where's Bill W

Post by g »

Seems my partner in crime has gone AWOL.Not seen any posts from him on the board for a while. Has he shipped himself off to New Zealand for the RWC? Anyone know?

If he is away, I'm sure he will find a way to make his views known. :smt001

Where are you Bill? In good form, I hope? :smt006

He seemed to make his 'Exit' shortly after the Poll 'Should the forum remain'.

Can't say i blame him after some off the comments coming his way by some posters. :smt018

Shame really.

Why thank you Tigerbeat.

I did hope that Dailywaffle, me2 and Rizzo would lift the tone of the forum if I ceased to participate, since they took the view that I stiffled their creativity.

My hope may take an eternity to spring.
Still keeping the faith!

Dear Bill - no one has ever stifled my creativity, online or in real life. :smt002 As a moderator I am here merely to do a job (for the Club).

It is true that I decided to (largely) cease contributing to the forum due, in part, to your postings. That is history, and I see little point in going over old ground.

I subsequently started posting elsewhere; albeit in moderation due to my professional and personal circumstances. The reality is that I do not have the time to post in the frequency that I once did, and having found a couple of alternative homes I am unlikely to start posting just because you have stopped.

As far as I am aware your decision to cease posting was entirely your own, although I give you credit for taking on board a certain degree of criticism (whether warranted or not).

As I've said before (and said directly to Dailywaffle whose views I very much respect), I don't think that if someone posts a lot, or posts about subjects of no interest to you, (i.e. the numerous bits of cheerleader banter), that anyone should be put off.

If someone wants to post a thousand posts about the merits of Twelvetrees and the deficiencies of Varndell, it's up to them. I won't read them all, because I don't want to. That's my choice.

And if someone wants to contribute just one erudite post per month on one of the finer points of rugby, then that too is up to them. They can post more if they want to.

Personally I like Bill's posts even though they can be acerbic, but no one is forcing anyone else to read them.

Haven't been around for a while so I don't know what all this is about so I've probably got the wrong end of the stick as usual.

I'd just like to say I enjoy Bill's posts, even if I just want to have a rant about some of them.

Free speech for all and I'll belt anyone who says otherwise.

Of course, when I say all, I mean property owning males over the age of 21.
I find the 1832 Reform Act to be excessively liberal.

Well I do own a property but I am frequently denied free speech by the current wife, one of my dogs, a horse, and several customers.

Perhaps that's why I come on here to vent steam!
