Great Yorkshire show

Post by Rizzo »

We went to this yesterday (niece was involved with show jumping). Saw quite a number of people with Tigers shirts on - didn't get to speak to any of them though, and it probably escaped notice by them that I was wearing a Tigers sweat-jacket, as it was so warm I had it tied round my waist.

Went to the RFU shop/stand - staffed by two very bored looking blokes, daughter & I were discussing the Spitfire beer Help for Heroes shirts they had on sale, and also joking about getting her dad a Stade Francais shirt. Not a smile or a glimmer of response from the chap behind the counter. We gave up and walked away. Not a good advert for the RFU products.

Perhaps it was because they were north of the Watford Gap and were out of their comfort zone......

The RFU is a bit weak up here because it's RL country and the RFU has an appalling structure with no pyramid and hence no hope for the smaller aspiring club!

(Rant over.)

But I have been wearing my Yorkshire Regiment armband for months now, which supports all of our troops, and it is well received everywhere I go up here.

So has Bill would say, keep the faith.

It's also the site of a Motorway Services which leaves something to be desired.

Down South they consider anything North of the Watford Gap is beyond comprehension or notice. Allegedly.
