Dinner Party Guests:-

Post by Kinoulton »

Here we go again. David Cameron got the ball rolling (on R2) with Winston Churchill, Nigella Lawson and Elizabeth 1.

So my three only:
Martin Luther King, Jimi Hendrix, Jeremy Paxman.

Votes to be cast by July 1st for no good reason whatsoever.

3! I'm not cooking for that many. How about Julian White and Kim and Aggie from that cleaning programme? Not because I like them, because they can :censored: off to the kitchen and do the washing up.

Possibly predictable, but I'd like Sir David Attenborough, Viggo Mortensen, and Richie Sambora. Discussions on art, music, tv and film, literature, natural history and travel - I'd just sit there and gawp probably (well, I would try and converse but in such august company.....)
If I was allowed a 4th guest - the wildlife presenter and cameraman Gordon Buchanan, who's just lovely, as well as knowledgeable and fun.

He could bring Lord Black of Coldharbour along with him - if the US authorities will agree!

Aly Bain is a fascinating and very nice chap, fleabane, I met him years ago at a folk club I used to help with, along with Tom Anderson who was legendary.

Could I have the whole of the Transatlantic Sessions gang? And MK and Katherine Tickell?

Ally Bain and Jerry Douglas both come across as articulate, modest and fun. Never met either of them, although I did once jam with The Dubliners, long after time was called, in The Arden in Stratford upon Avon! Long story :)

So far, only the well brought up Mr CallmeDave Cameron has got it right. Everyone else, including me, has NOT picked two of the opposite sex and one of the same sex which is required for a dinner party.
