Christchurch
How much more are the poor sods in Christchurch going to have to endure? It's their second major quake in six months and this time there are at least 65 reported killed. Mrs Beej and myself were there a month after RWC07 and, even after the All Blacks' failure yet again to lift the cup, we were made extremely welcome by the locals even when I walked into a bar wearing my England shirt.
The fact that this latest quake struck at lunchtime is what has made the death toll so high and most likely to increase. My heart goes out to them all.

Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.

Re: Christchurch
I understand Scott and Craig will be setting up an auction of their own signed jerseys to raise funds for people in Christchurch - as soon as I have more details I will post them here & in the main rugby forum.
NZ may be a reasonable sized country landwise, but having friends in Wellington, believe me they are all feeling this disaster very deeply. Thoughts go out to all those affected, and to our own NZ contingent of players, who must feel very helpless and worried.

Re: Christchurch
NZ has a real "village" mentality, and I am already hearing from friends over there that everybody knows somebody that lost something or someone in Christchurch.

Re: Christchurch
Dreadful news. Thoughts are with all those worried about friends and family. NZ suddenly must seem even further away. Great idea Scotty and Craig.

Very fond memories of Christchurch from the last Lions Tour.
Thoughts are with all those affected.

My thoughts are with our friends in NZ, but of course our hopes and sympathies are also with everyone affected by this dreadful earthquake.

Re: Christchurch
Looking at Scotty's Twitter comments he was up at 4am commenting on it all.
I know Newby said he felt helpless over here too.
You just hope that there arent any further fatal aftershocks and that everyone they know is safe & well.
Our thoughts are with everyone involved.

It must be really hard on our guys being so far away.

Re: Christchurch
terrible news, my thoughts are with all those affected, either in person or worrying about friends and family.
A good idea from Scotty & Craig, I'm sure the tigers 'family' will want to do all we can to support in any way possible. NZ must seem so far away on days like today for them

Re: Christchurch
I have e-mailed the club and suggested they have collection buckets around the ground tomorrow evening - at the developement game. Any monies raised could be added to those raised by Craig and Scotts shirt auction.
