Pet hate (of the minute)
Mainly thanks to the cycling thread i'd like to suggest the Pate hate of the minute thread.
I'll start this off with the middle lane driver. Having ventured out of darkest Norfolk on our holidays recently we sampled the delights of the M11, M25 and M4 all very interesting places (we are lacking of motorways in our fine county - many would say for good reason).
I was stagger but the number of muppets who on empty stretchs of said roads just sat in the middle lane. So having approached the car (normally a showroad fresh M reg brown thing) whilst in the left hand lane, I indicated and moving into the middle lane just behind them where I waited until I worked out the mirrors on their cars were for decoration only and then overtook them in the fast lane before moving back into the left hand lane.
They were also the cause of many bottle necks.
Personally camera activated missile launchers would be my solution of choice.
Anyway rant over........

Re: Pet hate (of the minute)
I have to agree with hating middle lane drivers.
But my pet hate at the minute is the use of pacific when somebody means specific. We have somebody at work who seems to be using it like it is going out of fashion, Oh I can feel my blood boiling at the thought

"should of . ."
AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
and
the use of "less" and "lesser" when "few" and "fewer" are the appropriate words.
I am not intolerant, honestly!

Re: Pet hate (of the minute)
People who use non hands free mobile 'phones when driving.
Particularly when the vehicles they are driving have hands free connection as standard.
And particularly when they are royalty, members of parliament, or professional footballers.
They should have the vehicle confiscated, be banned from driving for 20 years and banned from ever owning a mobile 'phone again.

Re: Pet hate (of the minute)
I've said it before and I'll say it again..........
...the flagrant misuse of the words 'literally' and 'ironically', primarily by football commentators, makes me want to hurt myself and other people.
"He's literally run rings around the defenders tonight." Has he? Literally? No.
"He made his debut here last season, ironically" You mean coincidentally. Idiot.

But Rizzo, that is why you just love us all on the forum.Rizzo wrote:Bad manners - in all walks of life and all situations.
We are all so polite and well mannered!
Well, apart from *** and ***** and occasionaly *********!

Re: Pet hate (of the minute)
People saying "may" when they mean "might" (as in "If he'd got a boot to that, it may have gone in"). People saying "decimate" when they mean "annihilate". Drizzle.
Re: Pet hate (of the minute)
Possibly dishonestly, Bill, but how dare you call me dishonetly intolerant?!
