I can now tell you that the Devil makes his new students cycle.
It's the ultimate demeaning activity.

Re: CYCLISTS Grrrrrrr
There was a film about that.
Kill Bill. Uma Thurman.
I'd be quite happy to park my Chopper in her bike stand.

Kicks and scrums and ruck and roll.....Is all my brain and body need!
Re: CYCLISTS Grrrrrrr
Were the legs either side of the chopper when you thought that one up?

Re: CYCLISTS Grrrrrrr
I don't usually agree with Rizzo, but I do 90% on this one. Nobody has to get there in such a frothing at the mouth rate. I drive coaches for my sins and car drivers seem to have this insane idea you are holding them up , they then cut you up and slow down and haven't got any further ahead. Cyclists no reason to get hot under the collar just be patient, they've got a right to use the road as well. The worst drivers on the road is the old guy with pigeons in the back who doesn't go over 25 mph as it upsets the pigeons.
Rizzo wrote:not defending those cyclists who are idiotic, but some motorists are no better. One driving down Millstone Lane this morning overtook me as I was waiting for a bin lorry to turn slowly into an adjoining road - thus nearly clearing up my car AND piling into said bin lorry. Surely if a road is fairly narrow & there is a lorry doing a job, you could wait a nano-second or two before rushing off to your obviously life-threateningly urgent appointment...
Re: CYCLISTS Grrrrrrr
As I understand it, when a bus driver indicates that he/she wishes to pull out, then car drivers must let them do so. This change to the highway code was enforced years ago.
So I always let buses pull out, yet no one else seems to.

Kinny, I always do. And often get beeped by the driver behind for doing so.
Don't waste your time away thinking about yesterday's blues

Re: CYCLISTS Grrrrrrr
Poor behaviour to buses seems particularly bad in Leicester. Waiting for the bus back to the park and ride, I was increasingly irritated by the large number of car drivers who drove into, and were stationary in, the yellow box preventing the bus from crossing to the bus lane and its stop. Perhaps it's a city thing although I haven't seen it in Lunnun.Kinoulton wrote:As I understand it, when a bus driver indicates that he/she wishes to pull out, then car drivers must let them do so. Re: CYCLISTS Grrrrrrr
As someone who travels everywhere by bus, I am totally with you on that one. Private firm taxis are particular culprits on that front.
An additional irk is that in Leicester it appears that the traffic light priorities seem to go totally against bus routes, so that when it is their turn the road they are trying to get into is clogged up with cars.
