The Coalition.......Superb.
Brown and the ghost of Blair destroyed.
'New' peeps who give the impression of knowing what they are doing.
Cameron...bright as a button.
The Libs, (my party) in by the back door.
Labour wrecked. He he.
Plans in place for Afgan, the railways, scroungers, banks, jobsworths, drinking, voting...in fact everything.
I understand that S+M is to be banned cos consent is unlikely.

Re: The Coalition.......Superb.
This controversial topic seems to lack a certain amount of.... controversy? Personally , I think the coalition, the ConDem'd, is appalling. Cameroony has no grasp of history (viz his comments about us being junior partners in 1940 to the US) but worse he has no understanding of how to escape a recession. Keynes worked it out as did Roosevelt and others: MORE public employees and spending to stimulate growth. He is my MP actually, and I think a nice bloke but...

Naaahh darlings.
Cut the number of protected public employee wasters, increase frugality and kick start the private sector.
Obvious!

Neither Keynes nor Roosevelt suggested increasing the number of faceless unproductive bureaucrats interfering in every walk of life and earning ridicuously high salaries and retiring on gold plated pensions.Old Hob wrote: Keynes worked it out as did Roosevelt and others: MORE public employees and spending to stimulate growth. Thanks to Blair and Brown, the supposedly socialist government has arranged that all investment spending is done via PFI's rather than public employees, thus guarranteeing that they are ridiculously expensive, late, and over budget, require armies of unproductive civil servants to monitor and leave a legacy of extremely high maintenance costs. Local Government has subcontracted all its direct works (usually to foreign companies) whilst replacing the direct workers with "strategic environmental and lifestyle diversity planners".
Further, Keynesian economics and Roosevelts "new deal" were implemented after the value of money had been virtually wiped out.
Given that the Euro will almost undoubtedly collapse even further and that not even Germany will be able to bale out the "PIGS", Camerron and Clegg our Britain and Europe's only hope of emerging successfully from the incompetences of previous governments.

"chalked up to be axed down !" a thrilling series of paper, read all about it in the Guardian! With what has been aleady done in England I wonder whether there is anything left to cut. Should come to Francewith a chainsaw (and a large piece of chalk) no need for the micrometer...

Oh yes! There are lots left! And they know who they are!!Ze Stade Fan wrote:" With what has been aleady done in England I wonder whether there is anything left to cut.
In the words of Mr. Gilbert (much better than the Guardian):
I've got a little list — I've got a little list
Of society offenders who might well be underground,
And who never would be missed — who never would be missed!
There's the pestilential nuisances who write for autographs —
All people who have flabby hands and irritating laughs —
All children who are up in dates, and floor you with 'em flat —
All persons who in shaking hands, shake hands with you like that —
And all third persons who on spoiling tête-á-têtes insist —
They'd none of 'em be missed — they'd none of 'em be missed!
There's the banjo serenader, and the others of his race,
And the piano-organist — I've got him on the list!
And the people who eat peppermint and puff it in your face,
They never would be missed — they never would be missed!
Then the idiot who praises, with enthusiastic tone,
All centuries but this, and every country but his own;
And the lady from the provinces, who dresses like a guy,
And who "doesn't think she dances, but would rather like to try";
And that singular anomaly, the lady novelist —
I don't think she'd be missed — I'm sure she'd not he missed!
And that Nisi Prius nuisance, who just now is rather rife,
The Judicial humorist — I've got him on the list!
All funny fellows, comic men, and clowns of private life —
They'd none of 'em be missed — they'd none of 'em be missed.
And apologetic statesmen of a compromising kind,
Such as — What d'ye call him — Thing'em-bob, and likewise — Never-mind,
And 'St— 'st— 'st— and What's-his-name, and also You-know-who —
The task of filling up the blanks I'd rather leave to you.
But it really doesn't matter whom you put upon the list,
For they'd none of 'em be missed — they'd none of 'em be missed!
Still keeping the faith!
