Super Group

Post by Kinoulton »

A silly topic but what the heck.....

For me:

Drums: Keith Moon (deceased Who drummer)
Bass: John Entwhistle (deceased Who bassist)
Guitar: Jimi Hendrix
Vocals: Kirsty McColl

Actually, all my four are dead. But they don't have to be. And feel free to add keyboards, sax, etc.
Kicks and scrums and ruck and roll.....Is all my brain and body need!

Given this careful consideration,
Drums - John Bonham (Deceased) 'Zep'
Bass - John Paul Jones 'Zep ' (currently in 'Them crooked Vultures' Supergroup)
Guitars - Um , er , Jimmy Page 'Zep'
Vocals - O dear , um , err , o dear , gonna have to go with....... Leonard Cohen!

Could swap JB for Cosy Powel , Dave Grohl , Ginger Baker , Lars Ulrich or Bill Ward
Could swap JPJ for Flea , Steve Harris or Cliff Burton
Could swap JP for Hendrix , Angus Young or the guy from Lynyd Skynyd who's name escapes me.

Oh this is hard!

Vocals - Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave)
or Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour)
Bass - Flea (RHCP)
Lead - Kirk Hammett (Metallica)
or Jimmi Hendrix (Experience!)
Drums - Lars Ulrich (Metallica)
or Mike Portnoy(but he would have to just shut up, sit down and drum)

Hi, at last it doesn't matter what people say on this ;
here they are:
bass: Phil Lynott
lead guitar: Eric Clapton/Gary Moore
drums:Cozzy Powell
sax:From Baker Street by the name of Raphael Ravenscroft

Love loads of music from that era and also saw most of the bands as they didn't just play in huge arenas.
And their revenge is as the tiger's spring,
Deadly, and quick and crushing.

Oh dear, a very senior moment.

I still stand with the sax from Baker Street.
Dare I suggest Alison Krauss as vocals: she is so much better than many younger 'rock' singers, sounds great with Rob Plant but may be a bit too American/Bible belt for most 'folks' to listen to ?
