It's snowing! And? So?
Yes it's been snowing in leicester today, so why have my grown work colleagues regressed to jumping up and down, cooing and ahhing at it!
I'm baffled, it's just solid rain, it's cold!
Do others regress at the first sight of this fluffy stuff!?!?

And on the 7th day, god rested, he stood patiently and awaited the green light to start the game from SKY!

I took my terriers out for one of the coldest walk ever up north.
The biting north wind was nearly blowing them off their feet, they were being pelted with horrendous sleet, but they appeared not to give a monkey's and even went for their usual dip in the River Hull.
Daft or hard?

Re: It's snowing! And? So?
Yes, I'm afraid I do, despite having lived a proportion of my youth in the Peak District where we'd be knee-deep - literally - my 21st birthday party got snowed in (or out) as all the roads into Hope Valley were blocked!
I also spent months in my childhood in various places in the USA where snow in May wasn't unusual, yet I still feel a little frisson when the big feathery flakes start to fall.
It doesn't stop me turning into a grumpy old woman when I meet the inevitable dimwits who can't drive when there's a snowflake in the vicinity and who therefore make it much more dangerous for those who can drive in snowy conditions.
As I am currently unable to drive on medical grounds, I am quite content to see a bit of snow, after all Yule is on Monday and it makes the whole thing feel right somehow.
Wassail to you all!

I do not get excited by snow.
I sigh, since I know it means that the rest of the household will expect me to act as their unpaid chaffeur in my Jeep.

I am afraid that my uni mates and I were very excited when it snowed! It did prevent our lecturer from running any kind of serious workshop.
However, I have now realised that I will have to drive home to Lincolnshire in these conditions...so no longer quite as happy

Snow in Paris was beautiful to see early in the morning but now it turned into a brown disgusting soup of cold mud. Snow is meant for the countryside...

Re: It's snowing! And? So?
1) Our temperature goes to minus 10. (It's grim up north).
2) The frozen water (wich expands) forces the water feed pipe away from the tank above our stables.
3) But then the temperature rises to plus 2! The water melts and now freely flows. Alas not to the tank, (from which it has been disengaged), but gushes freely into the air and then thousands of gallons of the firkin stuff cascades throughout the night onto the stable block.
4) The temperature returns to minus seven and the water in the stable block and beyond turns into an Olympic sized ice hockey rink.
I have spent the whole day chipping away at rock solid ice, moving it, and replacing it with grit which costs £4 a bag.
Winter? Shove it.

Kinny
This will teach you in future to turn the water off at the stop cock and drin the tank. Alternatively lag the pipes. You rist the ice in the pipes expanding when it thaws and bursting the pipes. Anyway, such experiences are character forming.

Do not think of them as cats. Think of them as little tigers!

It's minus 16 and the car doors are frozen shut and the tyres are frozen to the road, perhaps I'll stay in then.
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.
