:smt039 Hello from Chicago

I'm Josephine, I'm 17 and originally from Leicester. When I was 13, my parents (English dad, American mom) decided to uproot the family to the USA, and as the windy city is my mom's home city that's where we ended up.

I didn't want to go for many reasons, mainly because of my friends, but also because of my beloved Tigers.

I miss proper rugby. Chicago has a rugby team, but the league they play in lasts about 10 weeks, so you blink and you miss it. Plus it's not that good.

Next year however, I will be moving back to England, as I'll be off to university and I'm hoping I'll get into Leicester. However, wherever I end up at university, I'm looking forward to getting to see some regular Tigers action again.

People here say I'm mad for wanting to move back, but home is where the heart is, and mine belongs in Leicester (and especially WR)!

Welcome, Josephine.

That's a good story. I thought I was an exile, moving to East Yorks, but you've beaten me by several thousand miles.

If you use sufficient pester-power to get your folks to subscribe to the right networks, then you should be able to see at least half of all Tigers games from your home in Chicago.

We've had at least 3 games broadcast live already, and the next three games are all coming out live on Sky. You can definitely get any Sky matches on your PC (it will cost), but I'm not sure how it works on TV.

There are plenty of techno-freaks on this forum that will know how to do it.

Obviously there is nothing quite like being at WR, so we look forward to your return to blighty.

Hey guys,

Like the others, I too have been a long-time lurker in this forum and have just recently decided to get an account (couldn't be bothered to before)

I'm 20, and like Josephine, I'm also from across the pond...Canada to be exact! I'm a long time rugby fan and became a Tigers fan about 5 years ago when my English uncle brought me to a game in WR when I came over for a visit. Since then, I try to make it a point to watch a Tigers game whenever I'm over in the British Isles (which is usually once a year)! I was lucky enough to make it to the previous 2 open day houses in WR and I loved every minute of it.

I'm preparing to move to London in 2 months time, for a year for an engineering internship. Only real reason why I bothered looking for a intership abroad: so I can finally get a Tigers season ticket :smt003

Actually Kinny, we're so unfortunate here that we don't get Sky :smt009 (I know there aren't alot of Sky fans here in the forum either)...we have to settle for Setanta Sports

So Josephine, I suggest looking into getting Setanta. I believe it's an extra add-on to your cable bill because it's a special channel (it costs me $15/month for that single channel). Setanta doesn't play all of the GP games tho but I find I can watch the Tigers 3 times a month so it's not bad. I tried looking into subscribing to Sky TV online but it's only open to UK residents :smt009

What about returning, grumpy, sarky, lower league rugby (and Evertonian) types who haven't been on here in years but still hold the Tigers dear?
