Re: New users! Say hello, introduce yourself here.(new thread)
Hi all. Growing up I've always been a Leicester City fan but since going to university and becoming good friends with an obsessive Northampton Saints fan I gave in and got into rugby as well, I'm now a fan of both teams (City and Tigers that is, not City and Saints ). I've been somewhat of a lurker around here for a little while now. Thought it was about time I said hello
Besides PE back at school I've never really played rugby. Though recently I've become quite interested in playing as a scrum-half, but I don't really know of any way of learning, unfortunately my university doesn't offer training as such, the college rugby teams are really only for people who already know what they're doing.
Hmm, drifted off topic slightly here, in conclusion:

Hello Jimmyk, and welcome to the forum. There are a lot of knowledgeable (?) people about rugby on here, maybe someone could give you an idea of where you might start to learn to play?

Welcome Jimmyk, have fun and be safe it's a jungle on here
With regards to rugby, i used to play for Loughborough rugby club and they got alot of students down there that where new to the game and finding thier way on the playing front.
So maybe worth you finding out which is your nearest junior club to uni and pop down.
Enjoy

Hi all, thanks for the kind welcomes. I'm back in Leicester for a little while now, but thanks for the the advice Hull Fan, next time I'm back in York I'll have a look around for opportunities
By an impressive coincidence, my two closest uni friends are from Bath and Northampton, so we're busily organising next year's schedule already, Leeds away is nice and convenient too. Hope to see a few people from this board there

York have a fairly good set up with lots of various teams to progress through.
I've played there a couple of times, good bunch of lads.
