I took my terriers out at lunchtime by the River Hull and they were neck deep in the stuff. They loved it.

It's all melting now, so no doubt in true british fashion, the slush and water will re-freeze tonight, causing complete mayhem!

Haha! I beat you all we have about 4 inches of snow here, I have just gone out and measured it. Sadly however it is starting to melt, raining and it will all freeze on the roads tonight meaning it will be hell trying to get to school tomorrow but there is no chance of it being closed. My school was one of two in the whole of Kent that was open today, imaging how cheesed off we all were, yet we finished the day with half the pupils we started with! Why keep the damn thing open I ask you! Why?

We've had about 6" here in Rutland, and none of the roads seem to have been gritted!

Daughter and I went sledging in Knighton Park around 4pm, there was five inches of standing snow and it was still snowing lightly. It then took me 45 minutes to get back to Oadby and that was by taking a short cut (which was very slippery!). It took me over an hour to get her to school this morning, and at teatime tonight the school rang to say they are closing tomorrow, the first time in about 20 years for her school! Mind you, the pipes in the 6th form block were frozen today apparently.

Currently outside temperature is about -2 and everything is crackling as it freezes.

Well, first week living in darkest Devon and it's like the :censored: arctic. Really pretty. Our house looks quite nice instead of the wreck it really is, as the snow is covering the dodgy thatch. About 2 inches I guess, not bad for round here.

Visiting my brother yesterday in Bingham (12 miles to the east of Notitngham), and there was 6-7 inches by the time I left in the evening. Didn't stop all day long. We had a snowball fight, made a snowman, all the usual good stuff.

I was lucky enough to have taken the day off work and I had an absolute blast!

West Bridgford (on the banks of the River Trent) only had an inch or 2 left this morning.

we had about 5 inches here in North Herts. I walked down to the college yesterday evening for my photography course only to find it was shut. why? what's wrong with a little bit of snow for heaven's sake?

our gritters have done a terrific job. the main roads are all clear, all the bus routes and you can get into and out of all the villages. really easy journey to work - far less traffic than there normally is. just wish I didn't have to be here!

Wasn't too bad here in Newark, managed to struggle into work and back, which didn't impress my boss too much since I work from home and he is in Finland!
