Golf can make you deaf

Post by Antony D »

Yes it's offical - those men in white coats now suggest us keen golfers should wear hearing protection when hitting the new drives due to the sonic boom - my driving normally consists of - did you sent where the ball went? - thats out of bounders - a number of well know Anglo Saxon sayings or all 3

You have been warned!

Yes I heard that on this morning's news.

I don't think my pathetic swing would affect the hearing of a tiny bug hiding under the ball. Probably wouldn't even wake it up, in fact.

Its not that golf makes you deaf, they just found that most golf players have hearing problems so assumed that, in fact its just that golf players are all 70+ and have hearing problems. Typical logical fallacy, and an easy mistake to make :)

My husband plays golf, sadly. This Christmas I bought him a great T shirt which says "It takes a lot of balls to play golf like I do" and ANOTHER bumper box of Titleist Pro. Not deaf yet, just :censored:.

One of my ex boyfriends played a lot of golf, it didn't make him deaf, but it did make him a cheating git cos he two timed me with a woman from the golf club bar.

Angelica, my advice is to leave golfers alone and go out with anglers or bird watchers.

I see lots of them whilst I'm out in the countryside, and I think there's VERY little chance of them cheating with anyone.

Unless you lasses go all quivery at the site of a bobble hat and a tin of maggots.

It's neither! He has to look as though he may once have been quite good. He's doing a golf management degree at Uni, and then he's going to be teaching the course next year. Luckily his ability to whack a ball and then find it again is not a prerequisite. Though I am girly proud that he does loose them a very long way. What a hero.

A golf management degree? I know someone who'd much rather be doing that than what she is currently doing.......

Well, at Plymouth University they substituted a "Surf Science "course for a much more useful and practical"Fisheries Studies "course.
No doubt you have to provide your own surf board!
